Saartjie 13: Saartjie se dapper daad | Children's Fiction
Bettie Naudé
Saartjie’s older brother is heartbroken. His girlfriend ditched him for a guy with a shiny car and a moustache. Lynnekom’s tomboy firmly believes all men with a moustache are crooks and decides that she and her friends have to cut this show-off down to size so that her brother can be happy again. She comes up with a hilarious plan that leads to a lot of fun.
A boy from Zimbabwe visits his family in Lynnekom and from the beginning he and Saartjie are at odds with each other. He is an arrogant know-it-all and our heroine does her best to ignore him but unfortunately he has something that she would love to have – a wonderful new pen that can write in four colours. Saartjie is desperate to find something she can swop for the boy’s pen but he insists that he is not interested. Little do these two who can’t get along know that their names will soon appear together in newspapers all over the country!
