Trompie 17: Trompie die rebel | Children's Fiction
Topsy Smith
Trompie brings a bullfrog to school and things get out of hand – to such an extent that a new teacher faints from shock. Fortunately for the freckle-faced boy the principal is away at a conference.
The Boksom gang’s Big Chief is jealous when the girl next door gets a letter from a secret admirer. He soon finds out who this is and goes out of his way to make the boy’s life a misery.
Our hero decides that it is time to turn over a new leaf and become a better person. His gang is not impressed at all with this new fad but Trompie does his best to help his fellow man. A friend tells him that the children are underfed at the school hostel and he immediately takes pity on them. The ensuing hunger strike that Trompie mobilises has far-reaching results!
