Brolloks en Bittergal | Children's Fiction
C.J. Langenhoven
This classic Afrikaans work by C J Langenhoven was adapted by Leon Rousseau, well-known and award-winning author in his own right. This adaptation concentrates on the two old scoundrels, Brolloks and Bittergal, who had managed to scare children for many generations. But actually they are really quite dumb, because they are every so often outwitted by their “victims” who have the support of the crafty animals of the Karoo. Although these are scary stories, they are in fact quite humorous, mostly because of the bumbling of the two would be cannibals.
