The new schoolyear at Keurboslaan brings rumours of a masked robber, known as Jan Fiskaal, who terrorises the district. Dr Serfontein does his best to help capture the bandit, especially to minimize the influence this has on the imagination of the adventure-loving schoolboys. There are also some newcomers at the school: like Flip, a boy who ran away from home and joins the school under somebody else’s name. Eugene Krynauw, now sixteen, and his friends are also constantly getting into trouble.
