Andries Bezuidenhout
Biographical info
Andries Bezuidenhout works as a sociologist at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. However, he is probably best known as a leading Afrikaans singer-songwriter. He recorded two solo albums, Insomniak se droomalmanak (2003) and Bleek Berus (2009), and is also known as Roof of the Brixton Moord & Roof Orkes (Brixton Murder and Robbery Band).
His debut book of poetry Retoer was published by Protea Boekhuis in 2007 and he writes a column for the Afrikaans Sunday newspaper Rapport every second week. He lives in Johannesburg and Trompsburg.
